Pulaski County Proud

The Pulaski County Proud campaign seeks to convey pride in the Pulaski County (Virginia) community while encouraging a standard of excellence among all of its citizens. This feeling of pride is rooted in the idea that Pulaski County is our heritage, our hope, and our home.

Pulaski County Proud is a grassroots campaign that was first developed as a proactive way to counter the negative and often unfavorable attitudes and perceptions of our community – from those outside of Pulaski County, and yes, even those of us who call it home.

That’s not to say our community does not have its share of challenges. We do. And we own them. However, the problems and struggles we share pale in comparison to the unwavering tenacity and hope that many of us carry – spurred on by a belief that brighter days are ahead, even in the darkest of times. When that belief is combined with a willingness to roll up our sleeves and work to find solutions, that is when real change happens. That is the spirit of our community. That is what defines being “Pulaski County Proud”!

Scholarship Program

Each year, we provide scholarship awards to selected graduating seniors at Pulaski County High School. Interested students are asked to submit essays and winners are chosen from those entries, which are reviewed and evaluated by a panel of volunteers. Our scholarship program has awarded $11,000 in scholarships since 2022. Recipients are able to use these funds to help support continuing education, pursue vocational opportunities, or to meet their basic needs.

Currently, the Pulaski County Proud scholarship program supports three annual awards: $1,500 for first place; $1,000 for second place; and $500 for third place.

The scholarship fund is managed by the Pulaski Community Partners Coalition (aka “PCPC”) – the county’s community prevention coalition. PCPC is a 501c3 organization and contributions made to the scholarship fund and/or PCPC are considered tax-deductible.

If you are interested in supporting the Pulaski County Proud scholarship, please make your check payable to “PCPC” and be sure to note “Pulaski County Proud scholarship” in the memo line of your check. Contributions should be mailed to the address below:

Gobble & Wobble 5K

Our largest annual fundraiser is the “Gobble & Wobble” 5K held on Thanksgiving morning at Randolph Park in Dublin.
