New River Valley Community ServicesNew River Valley Community Services’ Financial & Administrative Support Services (FASS) Unit provides financial and administrative support by offering quality and dependable services to our staff, consumers/clients and the community.

Accounting & Reimbursement Services
Reimbursement staff bill our client’s insurance provider directly for services provided. Staff meet with clients to review financial needs of clients and offer amicable payment terms.

Clients are billed monthly for services that are not paid by their insurer or if the client does not have insurance. No one is turned away due to inability to pay for services.

Clients may contact the Reimbursement Department directly at 540-961-8316 with any updated insurance information or with any questions regarding their account.

Eligibility Services
We assist clients with filing for Medicaid, Social Security Disability benefits, SSI and Medicare Part D Prescription Plans.

Our staff are certified counselors (CAC) for the Affordable Healthcare program and work closely with Disability Determination Services to gather medical evidence in support of clients’ disability claims. We also assist in filing appeals on behalf of our clients who have been denied disability benefits.

We provide assistance to our clients in completing applications for financial assistance with our local hospitals, food stamps, etc. As SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access and Recovery) representatives, our goal is to help those that are disabled and homeless through an expedited process for their disability claim.

We work closely with all five local Departments of Social Services in the New River Valley to ensure that our clients apply for every benefit to which they are entitled. Our staff also provide clients with other community resource contact information as necessary.
