Susan Harris, NRVCS Outpatient Services Clinician, poses with “Kelt.”

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is offered primarily to children/youth who are receiving the most intensive services offered through NRVCS. EAP is available through a contract with Farmingdale Equestrian Center.

EAP is an experiential therapy that is collaborative in nature and uses horses along with a qualified equine and mental health therapist to address the emotional and behavioral treatment needs of identified participants who may be experiencing Reactive Attachment Disorder, Autism, or Attention Deficit Disorder, along with many other physical and emotional problems.
