2nd Annual Day of Hope Celebration & 5K set for May 16
NRVCS, in partnership with Montgomery County and the NRV Recovery Ecosystem, will host the “Day of Hope” Community Celebration & 5K, scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at Christiansburg’s Huckleberry Park (300 Huckleberry Park Drive, Christiansburg, VA).
This event is a project of the NRV Recovery Court – a regional program that began in 2014 and is dedicated to supporting individuals who have encountered legal issues as a result of their diagnosed substance use disorder.
2026 marks the first year for the 5K run/walk, which will begin at 9:30 AM. Online registration to participate in the 5K is now live and will remain open through the date of the event. Registration fee is $25.00 per person, but the fee increases after May 10.

NOTE: Participants will also be able to register the day of the event (from 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM).
The community celebration of recovery will begin at 11:00 AM, featuring live music, food trucks, and a variety of family-friendly activities. Various organizations from throughout the region will also be on hand to share resources and information.
