Pulaski River Turtles, NRVCS teaming up
for annual “Game for Hope”
Pulaski, VA – Earlier today, officials with the Pulaski River Turtles and New River Valley Community Services (NRVCS) announced plans for the annual “Game for Hope” – scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026 – when the host Turtles take on the Elizabethton River Riders at Motor Mile Field/Calfee Park in Pulaski.
This marks the third consecutive year for the “Game for Hope,” however, this will be first time the event is being conducted during the regular season. (Previously, this was part of a pre-season exhibition contest.)
The 2026 “Game for Hope” coincides with Father’s Day weekend and features an all-new jersey auction giveaway featuring perhaps the most iconic of all superheroes, Superman! All game-worn jerseys will be auctioned with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Pulaski Community Partners Coalition (PCPC).
Prior to the game on June 20, fans entering the game will have an opportunity to visit with representatives from local agencies and service organizations.
In addition to the festivities on June 20, PCPC has purchased an allotment of tickets for the game on Sunday, June 21 that will be provided to a select number of local dads and their families. NRVCS, PCPC, and the “HOPE” campaign will also be featured on all stadium beverage cups sold throughout the 2026 season.
“We are thrilled to be partnering once again with the River Turtles organization on this wonderful community event – and are even more excited that we’re extending this into a full weekend,” notes NRVCS’ Mike Wade, who also serves as Chair of PCPC. “Dads, or adults who fill that role in the life of a young person, have a great responsibility – but they also have an opportunity to be a true hero – someone who demonstrates not just strength – but love, kindness, fairness, and a willingness to always be there for the children who look up to them.”
“We’re very excited about this season’s “Game for Hope’ program,” adds J.W. Martin, General Manager of Calfee Park Baseball and the Pulaski River Turtles. “We’ve worked hard this offseason to reimagine this event.
“The Superman promotion and the Father’s Day campaign we’ve created with New River Valley Community Services is a natural fit, and we think our baseball community is going to enjoy the experience,” Martin continues. “It’s one of the most anticipated dates on the calendar this season!”
