  7. Governor’s Access Plan (GAP) launches new “warm line”

GAP_logoParticipants in the Governor’s Access Plan (GAP) program can now benefit from a new service provided by individuals in recovery.

Known as “Recovery Navigation,” the program features a warm line – a telephone number that individuals can call in non-crisis or emergency situations. Developers behind the project say the focus is on whole health and what is important to the caller – mentally, emotionally, physically and/or spiritually – while offering them hope.

The Recovery Navigators who take the phone calls are individuals who have also accessed services at some point in their own lives, enabling them to get help and get better. They are trained to take calls, and can even meet callers in person for additional support – if they happen to live nearby.

How do I get Recovery Navigation?
Anyone interested in the program should call the Magellan GAP Member line at 1-800-424-2479 and ask to speak to a GAP Care Manager. (Let them know that you are interested in Recovery Navigation.)

What is the warm line?
The warm line is available on evenings and weekends, and is operated by people in recovery. Callers can use this resource for any non-emergency reason – even if they just need someone to talk to. The phone number for the GAP warm line is: 1-800-424-4520. (Please note that this service is only available to GAP members.)

Warm line hours are: Monday through Friday (4 – 10 p.m.) and Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m. – 11 p.m.) and this service is available seven days a week – with the exception of certain holidays.
