Tips for a successful telehealth appointment

  • Find a quiet and private location, such as a bedroom or living room with no one else around

  • Keep distractions at a minimum, and maintain communication with your therapist during a session

  • Use headphones or earbuds if possible, and try to eliminate background noise

  • Make sure your device is charged and ready for use

  • If you live with others, ask that they refrain from using the Wi-Fi during your session so that your connection is not slowed down

  • Try have a solid wall behind you, and avoid being situated with a window behind you

  • Please feel free to use our Speed Test tool to check your connection. Your internet connection should meet bandwidth requirements listed below for an optimal experience.

Maximum bandwidth consumption of Sending and Receiving Video:

  • High Definition Video: 2.5 Mbps (Receive) and 3.0 Mbps (Send)
  • High Quality Video: 1.0 Mbps (Receive) and 1.5 Mbps (Send)
  • Standard Quality Video: 0.5 Mbps (Receive) and 0.5 Mbps (Send)
