ABOUT NRVCS
New River Valley Community Services (NRVCS) is a public provider of behavioral health services to residents of the New River Valley. The agency serves children, adults and families by providing community-based programs for mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse and prevention services.

Established in 1969, NRVCS serves the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery and Pulaski, and the City of Radford. Each of these localities allocate an annual amount of funding to NRVCS and appoint representatives to the agency's Board of Directors.

New River Valley Community Services is part of a state-wide system of Community Services Boards, which serves residents throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. NRVCS is also a proud member of the Virginia Association of Community Services Boards.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
New River Valley Community Services is governed by a 13-member Board of Directors. Board members are all volunteers and each are appointed by one of the five jurisdictions served by NRVCS.

The board meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the NRVCS Montgomery Center (700 University City Boulevard, Blacksburg) unless otherwise noted. All NRVCS board meetings are open to the public.
