DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Part-time
Transit Bus Operator position for the newly
implemented Radford Transit system. Duties
include performing vehicle pre-trip
inspections, record keeping, and providing
safe and courteous service at all
times. Hours vary Sunday through Saturday
and are very flexible to all types of
schedule needs.
Evening and
weekend hours are expected.
(Employment is contingent upon federal
funding and the continuation of employment
is based on the availability of these
funds.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants
must be 19 years of age or older and possess
a valid Virginia Driver’s License and
acceptable driving record. High school
diploma and/or equivalent experience
operating vans and bus size
vehicles. Experience handling wheelchairs
and assisting the physically disabled is a
plus.
Ability to
maintain effective working relationships
with others required.
Must
be able to obtain (or currently hold) a
“Class C” Commercial Drivers License with
Passenger Endorsement within the first 60
days of employment
(on the job training and testing provided).
Successful
candidates must pass a DOT Physical and
comply with all FTA Drug and Alcohol Testing
guidelines.
STARTING SALARY: $8.63/hour
HOURS: 15 - 30 hours per week
