TYPE OF WORK:
Responsible for monitoring and
assisting clients in residential crisis stabilization
facility. Staff will be working with acutely mentally ill clients
providing periodic safety checks to ensure client safety and initial
intervention in the event a client experiences crisis. EMT must be
able to triage both medical and psychological symptoms and determine
appropriate action. Responsible for taking client vital signs when
any medical concerns or symptoms are present and must be able to
identify when emergency medical care or consultation with program
medical staff is needed. In addition, EMT will be required to
document medication orders and psychological and medical symptoms in
the client’s record. Following medication training provided by
NRVCS, EMT will be responsible for administering client
medications. Additional responsibilities will include transporting
of clients as needed, general facility maintenance tasks, and
assisting clients with daily living skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Virginia certification as EMT-basic or higher and minimum of high school education or GED. Experience
working with individuals with mental illness or substance abuse
preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving
record.
STARTING SALARY: $10.88 per hour
