Best Buddies Chapter Meeting: April 9, 2008
Present:  Bridget M., Sam G., Katie H., Catherine R.

• Discussed those students who are graduating.  Jessica M. suggested inviting other students who attend VT to next activities:  bowling, Huckleberry Trail hike.  Bridget Meneghini will attend bowling with sign up sheet for other VT students who are interested in participating next year.
• Katie H. and Sam G. are organizing an additional recruitment drive for 4/22 11am-3pm on the drill field.  Katie to obtain table.  Sam to obtain Best Buddies materials.  Invite your buddies to attend.  Contact Katie H. or Sam G. to schedule a time to work at the table.
• Katie H. to send out dates for end of the year party.  Please respond with your choice of dates. 
• Catherine R. is interested in being College Buddy Director, but may not be able to attend Leadership Conference.  Bridget Meneghini to follow up Ginny Kelly for approval.
• Bridget Meneghini will contact student buddies by phone to determine graduation dates and to inquire about participation.
• Next planned activity (aside from bowling, etc.) will be Saturday, April 19 at 10am.  Meet at Blacksburg entrance to Huckleberry Trail.  Invite buddies!
• Fundraiser total:  $254.79.  Thanks to Sam G., Katie H. and Jessica M.  Great job!
• Sam G. is attempting to have our chapter recognized by VT President.  More information to come.
   

Best Buddies Minutes: March 12, 2008

Present:  Bridget M. Cindy K. Catherine R., Jessica M.

 

Move meeting location to Squire Student Center beginning with April meeting.  Cindy will arrange meeting location.

Bake sale is scheduled for March 25, 2008 at Top of the Stairs 11pm-2am.  Jessica will contact TOTS to arrange.  Bridget Meneghini will bring a table.  Sam will bring Best Buddies banners, etc.  All chapter members will contribute individual baked items (cookies, brownies, etc.).  Items will have a set price with the opportunity for donations.  Determine your price before coming.  If you cannot attend the bake sale, drop off your item to another member.

Members present said they have not been contacted by Membership Committee members for Friendship Updates--Bridget Manasco and Kelly Umberger please follow up.

Sam suggested that we participate in the Big Event on April 5.  Bridget Meneghini to contact Big Event organizers.  Jessica suggested that we ask for an "easy" task so that our buddies could participate more successfully.

Sam graduates in the summer.  Please email Bridget Meneghini if you are interested in being President next year.

Took suggestions for activities.

Next activity is the Talent Show which is Friday, March 14 2008 at Custom Catering located on Patrick Henry Dr. in Blacksburg.  Show begins at 10am.
